Bala Tips Falcons To Triumph Over Equitorial Guinea In Malabo

Coach Nikyu
Former head coach of the Nigeria Under Seventeen women's Football team,Bala Nikyu has expressed confidence that the Super Falcons of Nigeria can overcome their counterparts from Equatorial Guinea in Malabo ,when both sides meet for the decisive return leg match of the 2016 Rio Olympic qualifier this weekend.
Nigeria under new coach Christopher Danjuma recorded 1-1 scoreline in the first leg played inside the mainbowl of the national Stadium,Abuja to give the visitors from central Africa a slight edge.

Despite the seeming tight situation the Nigerians have found themselves,Nikyu said it happens in Football and that the Falcons must brace up the challenge ."The draw now is not the issue ,that is football for you,the players must not allow it weigh them down, they must step up their game and ensure we look forward"

Nikyu who took Nigeria to the under seventeen FIFA Women's World Cup in Costa Rica 2014 was quick to add that the Falcons allowed Equitorial Guinea too much room to operate  .
"Right from the first half ,their pace was very slow and it gave the Guineans room to operate ,in Football when you slow the pace like that from the beginning you make it easy for your opponent to latch on and take the game to you ,which was what exactly happened, they had a game plan tactically and the achieved it "

And ahead of Saturday's reversed fixture in Malabo,Nikyu is not in doubt about the capability of the Falcons to overrun the two time African Champions .

"I am very sure Nigeria can conquer, the players must have a different approach to the ,they must change their mentality, when all that is done they will come out victorious because i think  the Equatorial Guinea will begoing into the second leg with big confidence and that can put them under pressure which will be to Nigeria's advantage :

Bala Nikyu helped current Nigeria Premier League side Nasarawa United regain Promotion to the elite  division in 2012.

The return leg will come up in Bata on Sunday, 2nd August.
