Volleyball:Madagasca To Host U-18 Girls African Nations Championship

Madagascar will appear again in the organisation chart after the African Volleyball Confederation entrusted the Indian Ocean Island to host the 2016 Girls' U18 African Nations Championship which acts in the same time as a qualifier for the FIVB World Championship of this age category.


Madagascar will host the competition from August 19 to 26, 2016, three years after the successfully organised the 2013 Women's African Club Championship in presence of 16 teams.

2016 Girls U18 African Nations Championship is to be held in the City of Antananarivo – Madagascar from 17th to 27th August 2016.

The African Volleyball governing body determined the 3rd August as a deadline for the National Federations to confirm their participation. The championship is open to players born on 1st January 2000 or after.

This African Championship will be qualifying for the 2017 FIVB Girls' Youth African Nations Championship as Africa has been granted 2 vacancies in this competition.
Egypt are the defending champions of this competition as they won the last edition in Algeria 2014.
