Top Nigerian Referees To Face Continental Actions Weekend

Three Nigerian top referees are expected to be on duty this weekend in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Inter-Club Competitions,the  trio of Benjamin Odey, Efosa Igudia and Peter Ogwu  have been assigned matches as the second leg matches in the preliminary rounds get under way at various centers across the continent.

Odey,Igudia,and Ogwu  will on Wednesday  prior to their departure ,do a dress rehearsal with matches in the  Nigeria Premier League that enters week two. In  Lokoja, Kogi State, where Tornadoes of Minna will be hosting Giwa FC of Jos, they shall be in charge of USFA of Burkina Faso against Club Marrakesh of Morocco at Ouagadougou as Referee, Assistant Referees 1and 2 respectively, while Basheer Salisu, a new entrant into the FIFA list will act as Fourth Official.

Basheer was at the centre of the field directing affairs of the game at Onikan Stadium, Lagos between Ikorodu United and Abia Warriors, when top flight soccer show returned to the Onikan Water  front after several years.

In the Champions Cup qualifying match between Stade Malien and Racing Club de Bobo of Burkina Faso in Bamako, Mali, Nigeria"s Abdulahi Ago will be in centre to be assisted by Isah Usman and Temitope Orowole as AR1 and AR11 respectively. Abdulahi Shuaibu of Katsina Referees Council who took charge of the Shooting vs Lobi on Sunday will be the fourth official.
