Handball Federation Invites Kanu To Camp

player and Technical director of the Handball Federation of Nigeria,Patrick  Anthony Atusu has invited Israel based Philips Kanu to be part of his squad ahead of the 2016 Men’s Handball  Africa Cup of  Nations in Egypt.


Philips Kanu who plies his professional trade in Israel with Meccabi Holon is the only player invited to camp from the list of other Nigerian players playing professional Handball abroad.

Patrick Atusu,who also played for Kano Pyramids Club told amarignis.blogspot.com in this chat why he invited only Kano.

"During the All Africa Games you will recall we invited four foreign based players but we have decided to invite only Kanu because we want to focus more on home grown players.We singled out Kanu because for now he fits into our programme"

"What we are trying todo is to really build up from the younger players that we have ,it was when we were going to the All Africa Games that we invited four professional players"


The tournament which is expected to stroke off on the 20th through to the 31st  of this month .The first three teams will qualify for Rio 2016 Olympics ,while the first four countries will play at the World Championship.
