D'Tigers Battle Argentina in Two - Header Friendly

African Basketball champions, ,D’Tigers of Nigeria will play their counterparts from Argentina in a two -header tune up match as they continue preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The William (Willy) Voigts coached D'Tigers will  on Monday 18th of this month at the Thomas &Mack Center located on the the campus of the University of Nevada,Las  Vegas,take on Argentina in a two -legged international friendly,while the other leg will be played at the Cox Pavilion two days later (Wednesday)  within the same Campus.

D’Tigers are drawn in group B at the Olympics Basketball event,alongside host ,Brazil,Argentina ,Spain ,Croatia and Lithuania.

D'Tigers finshed 3rd at  the 4-Nation Stankovic Cup tournament in China , behind France and Argentina .The Sergio Hernandez-tutored Argentina team who beat Nigeria 71-49 at the Stankovic Cup early this month have already named 14 players, including four 2004 Olympic gold medallists Luis Scola, Andres Nocioni, Manu Ginobili and Carlos Delfino for the friendly games.

D'Tigers last friendly game will be in Houston against the United States' team on August 1 in what the Americans have dubbed the USA Basketball Showcase, before they depart to Rio. Their first game is against Argentina on August 7 and they have to finish among the top four to advance to the Quarter-Finals.
