The long awaited 2015/16 Nigeria
National League (NNL) kicks-off this weekend with 16 matches scheduled for the
first week of the League across different centres in the country.
Secretary of the nation’s second
tier football league, Lawrence Katken,has confirmed that there is no going back
on the date of commencement after the 2015/16 season had suffered series of
setbacks.
"We are going ahead with the start of the League as
fixed and and all matches as scheduled will be played at the various designated
venues,what would have delayed us again has been handled, this has to do with
teams in the Federations cup and we have agreed to shift those matches by a day
or two to enable the clubs involved to adjust and take part in the Federations
Cup challenge"
"All clubs involved have been duly communicated and are aware of the latest development,Katken noted.

The matches involving Kaduna United
who are home to Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse at the Township Stadium, Kaduna,
Kwara United and Adamawa United at the Ilorin Township Stadium, Remo Stars FC
confront Delta Force of Asaba at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and the tie
between ABS FC of Ilorin and Crown FC Ogbomosho, have been picked as star
matches in the first week.
In other games, Mighty Jets FC visit
Sokoto United FC at the Giginya Memorial Stadium in Sokoto.
In Lokojo, it’s between Kogi United
FC and Shekerau Babes FC at the Confluence Stadium.
FC Taraba tackle Supreme Court FC at
the Jolly Nyame Stadium, in Jalingo, at the Onikan waterfront Stadium, in Lagos
the fight is between City of David United(COD) FC and Abia Comets FC.
Bayelsa will play Prime Fc of
Oshogbo,First Bank of Lagos and Gateway United of Abeokuta,slug it out,J’Atete
FC of Delta are home to Bendel Insurance,while Cofine FC of Ikot Ekpene
play Unicem Rovers of Calabar.
FC Yarmalight is at home against
Katsina United at the Pantani Stadium,Gombe,Go -Round FC welcome Akwa Starlets
at the Krisdera Stadium,in the small oil community of Omoku,Rivers
