Gold medal winner at the recent African Junior
Gymnastics Competition at the High Performance centre in South Africa and captain of team Nigeria to
the event,Azeemah Shehu says the sport
needs better encouragement in the country.
Ten year old Azeemah,who is currently in Primary
five at the Regent School in Abuja told amarignis.blogspot.com that the lsports authorities in Nigeria to
put in place needed facilities to help harness the potentials in youngsters.
Hear her"They should show more passion in Gymnastics,it is a wonderful and exciting sport,if we are really encouraged we can make our country proud.Such facilities will help us train well,in South African it was amazing,they have good facilities and we were happy that we had the chance to use the facilities there"
Azeemah and sixteen others who represented the
country at the TIGC event in South Africa
were unveiled to the media Saturday in Abuja.
