The Pharmacist Council of Nigeria ,PNC, has
backed Olympic sanctions imposed by the world Anti Doping Agency,WADA,on erring
athletes ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics .
The Registrar of PNC,Elijah Mohammed told amarignis.blogspot.com in Abuja Thursday at the
ongoing two day workshop on best hospital Pharmacy Practice and Public Private
Partnership in Nigeria, that the action by WADA has become necessary following
the unwholesome practice and abuse of drugs by the athletes.
"The World Anti-Doping Agency cannot be faulted,we support them on the various sanctions to offending athletes and countries involved in unauthorized use of drugs"
"Team Nigeria must compete clean and free ,our name as a country is very important,they are our ambassadors and must ensure credibility on and off the competition Zones,cheating must not be encouraged,unapproved drugs are harmful and have untoward side effects as well" Mohammed concluded.
All things being equal team Nigeria will open her quest for honours at the Rio Olympics in the Football event with a match against Japan Friday 2 O'Clock in the morning.
