RIO 2016: Chierika Rowers Into Second Place In The Women's Final

Nigeria's emerging Force in Rowing Chierika Ukogo ended her chase for honours at the 2016 Olympics on a high when she finished 2nd in the Women's Singles Sculls in the Rowing event.

The America based Nigerian hit 7:44:76 secs. her best time in the classification event in the D final of the Women's singles Sculls ,behind leader Gabriela Mosqueira Benitez of Paraquay who made it in a time of 7:44:62 secs.

Another African,Amina Rouba of Algeria placed 3rd in a time of 7:46:55 in the placement event.

Chierika Ukogu sponsored herself to RIO Olympics,an American born Nigerian girl of 23 years of age,she is a student of Stanford University . She had to put her school program on hold and found a way to train with the US Olympic team and qualified for the games without any support from home. 
She used the GO FUND ME App to raise funds to enable her participate in this games.She was not deterred by the challenges.
