Abuja based Supreme Court Football Club rekindled their
chance of finishing on top of its group by the end of the season after a 2-0 victory over
Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse in one of the Match-day eight games decided in the Nigeria
National League penultimate weekend.
Playing at the popular Area 3,Play Ground in Abuja as the home side, the much needed win came in
the second half, courtesy of two quick goals from Striker Paul Samson and
Emmanuel Chukwuma in what appeared like a pay back to their Opponents who
claimed a late lone goal victory in the first leg in Dutse.
The Apex Boys as they are fondly called after a goalless first
half, resumed the second half in blistering style.
Paul Samson nicknamed Drogba released a beautiful salvo from outside 25 metres from the opponents goal line to open scoring in the 54th
minute.
Not done yet, defender Emmanuel Chukwuma who
positioned himself appropriately tapped intelligently the second goal after a well
delivered corner kick from Emmenuel Gbemi six minutes later.
Supreme Court interim head coach
Joachim Osuji who praised his boys for high level performance added that with proper
motivation, his side has all it takes to do more.
His words:“We have to move on from here. Its unfortunate we lost our last away match in Jos last weekend. From here, we will take a lot of positives ahead of the remaining matches this season.
“The performance of my players was
better in the second half because we were able to address the lapses noticed in
first half, He added”
Samson, one of the goal scorers said
“I’m happy to score again. The victory will serve as motivation ahead of our
next game against Kogi United in Lokoja.”
