Sule fielding questions from journalist At The Confluence Stadium |
Club Chairman, Abdul Sule noted that not agreeing to shift the venue from Delta state, the home ground of their opponent may create the impression that they are giving Bayelsa Queens an undue advantage in such an important match.
The Queens management maintained that they are not in confrontation with NFF but are only appealing with the Football House to reconsider their stand on the issue and move the venue out of Delta state, stressing that they should not give the world the impression they are on the side of Bayelsa Queens.
In the words of Sule “We are not in confrontation at all with NFF over this matter but are forced to go to the public domain to let the world know what we are facing. All we are pleading is for the NFF to change the venue,” .
“We are still very confused as to why NFF is refusing to hear our argument in this matter, that they are given undue advantage to Bayelsa Queen".
"They argued that they had fixed similar fixture between IfeanyiUbah and Bayelsa United in the same venue, Oleh and IfeanyiUbah went there to secure a victory, saying also that Oleh is a far distance from Ogharra where they play their home matches and that Referees would be coming from a different state, but those argument does not justify putting our venue there as long as the match is in Delta state and Bayelsa Queen play their home matches there". Sule stated
“IfeanyiUbah may have accepted to play Bayelsa United there but we are not accepting that because this is a semi final match and they are giving Bayelsa undue advantage. "Everybody knows such match must be played in a neutral ground and not at the home ground of the opponent,’ he concluded
