Green Roses Of Nigeria For Tanzania International Bowling Championship

The 2nd Edition of the Nigeria Cricket Federation  Under -seventeen girls Championship ended  in Abuja  weekend with Team South West emerging as new champions  .The  Teams had been shared into 2 groups with South-West and South East playing the first Semi Final match, and South-South playing the Second Semi final.

South-West emerged victorious from the first Semi finals after a dramatic conclusion in the second innings, while South-South emerged victorious after another close game in the Second Innings.

The final game was the battle of 2 giants as defending champions South-South lined up to retain the trophy, while South-West desperate for success to win this second edition.
South-South won the toss and elected to field sending in South-West to bat. South West scored a total of 45 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 10 overs

In the Second innings, South-South came in to chase and started brightly scoring 8 runs in the first over, but quick wickets from the South-west team saw them seize control of the game and prevented the defending champions from scoring runs. In the end, South-South came close but fell short and scored a total of 42 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 10 overs.

South-West won the tournament by 3 runs with defending champions settling for Second position.
 
South-East won the third place match over North Central,South East won the toss and elected to bat and scored a total of 50 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 5 overs.
In the second innings, North-Central came in to chase and scored a total of 31 runs for no loss in 5 overs
South East won the match by 19 runs making them 3rd place winners

In the meantime,the Director General of the National Sports Commission,Al-Hassan Yakmut has  re-echoed the Commission’s commitment for the support of Cricket.His words :We will continue to support every genuine efforts aimed at developing sports especially at the grassroots  in our country "

In another development,the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) say Camping have resumed for the senior Female National Team in the wake of an Intercontinental Women’s Cricket Championship to be held from the 18th to 24th August 2015 in Tanzania.

The Rebirth of Female Cricket at the international Level comes as a welcome development as the Nation has not been involved in any tournament since 2013. This is another Landmark Achievement for the Federation  Administration .

23 Girls are currently camping in Abuja preparatory to the event in Tanzania.



The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) is pleased to announce to the General Public and all Cricket Lovers home and abroad that Camping have resumed for the Nigeria Female National Team in the wake of an Intercontinental Women’s Cricket Championship to be held from the 18th to 24th August 2015 in Tanzania.
The Rebirth of Female Cricket at the international Level comes as a welcome development as the Nation has not been involved in any tournament since 2013. This is another Landmark Achievement for this present Administration led by Engr. Emeka Onyeama President (NCF) in the restoration of Female Cricket in Nigeria giving renewed hope to our U-17 girls knowing that the stakes have become higher and also there is a pathway from the Age grade tournament to the National team.
Venue for Camping is the NCF Guest House, Efab Estate, Lokogoma, Abuja
