Nigeria will play Sweden,Colombia,and Japan in its Olympic group in the summer as she challenges to win a a second gold medal.


The draws for the men's and women's tournaments were conducted Thursday at the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, which will host both finals.

 The top two in each men's group will reach the quarterfinals,while the eight of the 12 women's teams will advance to the knockout stage (top two in each group plus the best two third-place finishers),

Group A: Brazil (Host Country), South Africa, Iraq, Denmark
Group B: Sweden, Colombia, Nigeria, Japan
Group C: Mexico (Defending Champions), Germany, South Korea, Fiji
Group D: Argentina, Portugal, Algeria, Honduras

Coach Samson Siasia who attended the draws said his team has what it takes to come out from the group but noted it will require plenty work,dedication and committement .

"We have come along way getting this ticket ,we know what it means to be at the Olympics,we need to know there are no minors in football,we will prepare well and hope that our efforts will see us win"

WOMEN'S OLYMPIC DRAW:
Group E: Brazil, China, Sweden, South Africa
Group F: Canada, Australia, Zimbabwe, Germany
Group G: USA, New Zealand, France, Colombia
