Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifier Spikes Off In Abuja




All participating countries except Kenya and South Africa who withdrew have arrived for the final round of the  Women’s Beach Volleyball Olympic qualifier holding at the Jabi Lake Abuja.Nigeria's capital.



The countries in Nigeria for the event spiking off tomorrow at the Jabi Lake Abuja are: Namibia, The Gambia, Ghana, Mauritius, Egypt, Sierra Leone; Rwanda, Mozambique,and Burkina -Fasso.



Board member of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and chairman Anambra State Volleyball Association, Philomena Egbunihe, said her Federation was sparing no effort in ensuring a successful hosting of the event.

"It is good we are hosting the event ,our federation will continue to work better to ensure it is  successful ,let me add that we are equally prepared to see to it that Nigeria will be at the Rio 2016 Olympics"


Prescilia Agera, Isabela Laju, Tochukwu Nnorua and Francisca Ikedia are the players that will be representing Nigeria at the event.


The final Beach Volleyball Olympics qualifiers will hold in  from Thursday  the 14th  through to the 17th April,2016.
The Tournament is organised by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVF) in conjunction with the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAV).

The first team from the qualifying series will go to the Olympics while the second and third teams will qualify for the World Cup and World Championship, respectively
