Nigeria Lead The Pack In Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifier.

Team Nigeria will battle Sierra Leone Friday in the first game as the ongoing Rio 2016 Beach Volleyball Olympic qualifier at the Jabi Lake Resort, Abuja, enters Day Two.



The morning games will be Nigeria’s 5th and 6th matches in the round robin format that is featuring ten countries drawn in pools A and B.

Nigeria, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Ghana are drawn in Pool A, while Rwanda, Mozambique, Morocco, Egypt, and Namibia are in Pool B.

Nigeria yesterday started her campaign for the sole Olympic ticket with victories over highly rated Mauritius, 2-0 and The Gambia with same margin.

Team captain Prescilia Agera,Isabela Laju,Tochukwu Nnorua,and Francisca Ikedia are the quartet for team Nigeria.

Technical director of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Tony Oghuma speaking at the venue to  amarignis.blogspot.com said he was confident Nigeria will clinch the single ticket for the Olympics.

"The dream i had is that team Nigeria 1 and 2 will play in the finals and you can see they are looking good,playing in the finals means we will have the only ticket.I am really impressed with their performance so far"


More matches in day two will see Morocco square Rwanda,The Gambia versus Ghana,and Egypt up against Namibia.
