Ekeji cautions on Nations Cup qualifiers

FPatrick Ekeji
Former director general of the National Sports Commission (NSC) ,Patrick Ekeji, has advised coach Stephen Keshi not to underrate any team in its group as qualifying matches for the Gabon Africa Cup of Nations( AFCON) 2017 continues.
Nigeria is in the same group with Egypt,Chad, and Tanzania. The Pharaohs of Egypt currently lead the group G with three points after their 3 -0 victory over Tanzania, the Super Eagles of Nigeria trail  with a goal difference though on same three points following its  2 - 0 home win against Chad.Tanzania and Chad are yet to record a point.

In a special chat with www.amarignis.blogspot.com ,Ekeji said "We should take every match we play as a final and in the final it is only the team with the superior goal tht wins"
"Though Egypt maybe coming out of a boiling political situation,we must not forget they have won the cup more than any country and in recent times missed attending subsequent editions"
Ekeji one time captain and coach of the team then known as the Green Eagles of Nigeria  says the Super Eagles must be focused to ensure the ticket is secured.

"The team must avoid distractions ,we certainly do not need such for now,the Nigeria Football Federation should do everything within its power to support the team "

Nigeria Plays the Taifa Stars of Tanzania next away in Daresalam in September.

Ekeji adds that " The Tanzania looks inferior to Nigeria on paper but we should not forget the country does great exploits in sports"
The Football Federation in Tanzania (TFF) has just appointed Boniface Charles Mkwasa to replace Mart Nooij of Belgium as coach of its national team.
