Yakmut raises hope for the staging of the National Sports Festival




DG-Nigeria's Sport Commission,Al-Hassan Yakmut

The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Alhassan Yakmut has assured Nigerians that the much postponed National Sports Festival will hold before the end of 2015
Yakmut told www.amarignis.blogsport.com that with the New Government settling down the NSC will in due course announce the date for the competition.

The 19th National Sports Festival earlier scheduled for the month of  November 23rd, 2014 has suffered several postponement till date."The Festival will hold this year by the grace of God,we are just waiting for the new government of the host state Cross-River to settle down"

"The National Sports Festival has suffered delay because of elections and politicking in our country,we had a congested calender ,we are in touch with the new government under Professor Ben Ayade and we are hoping for a positive response"

Yakmut former Nigeria Volleyballer,was however, quick to add that confirming the hosting as a top event on the agenda of the National Sports Commission will require series of policy decision taking to actualize.

"There are sequencesof policy decisiond that we must go through to help us know when,where ,and how to to hold the event"



The 53 year old Al-Hassan Yakmut said Oyo and Ondo states have been put on standby should Cross River state fail to host the National Sports Festival.
Yakmut was appointed on April 20 by former president Goodluck Jonathan to replace Gbenga Elegbeleye and confirmed as the substantial DG on May 12,2015.
