Adeka Daudu just appointed coach of Nigeria's U-16 Girls Basketball team |
The Nigerian Basketball Federation has appointed current technical Adviser of Markmentors Basketball Club of Abuja,Adeka Daudu as head coach of the country's U-16 Girls ahead of the 4th FIBA Africa cadet Women's championship billed to start from the 10th - 19th of next month,in Antananarivo,Madagascar.
Nigeria got a wild card invitation from the International Basketball Federation Africa (FIBA Africa) to be part of the 2015 U16 Men’s and Women's event in July.
The male counterparts will participate in the final round of the 5th Africa Nations Junior Championship in Bamako, Mali from 30th July-8th August,2015.
As the teams placed first and second in the African Championship will qualify for the FIBA U17 World championships for men and women slated for 25th June – 3rd July 2016 and 16th July – 24th 2016 respectively.
The NBBF opened camp today in Abuja with 25 female players invited.
Coach Daudu was a member of the Nigeria national team in 1984,he spent 12 years playing for NAF Rockets Basketball club.
In 2006 was appointed head coach of Nigeria's U-18 boys he eventualy won the Africa U-18 championship and went on to represent the country at the world youth championship.Adeka has also tutored Dodan Warriors Basketball team of Lagos.
