Fresh from appointing former national team player,Adeka Daudu as head coach of the Girls U-16 national team,the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) is set to announce the new chief coach for the men's senior national team,D'Tigers ahead of the Afrobasket Men final in Tunisia.
Head media of the Federation Patrick Omorodion told amarignis.blogspot.com that the new coach will be unveiled in the first week of July.
Omorodion disclosed that the NBBF received over twenty
applications for the head coaching job.

Basketball Federation has been engrossed with the necessary due
diligence process to arrive at a rewarding decision,the board and technical team have been in attending to the various applications received"
Some of those who applied for the plum position and made the "Possibles" are Team Nigeria 2012 Olympic assistant coaches Sani Ahmed and
Timothy Shea .
The foreign list include include Josep Maria
Berrocal Riera of Spain, Ricardo Daniel Maffei from Argentina, Guy Arnaud of France, William B. Voigt (USA), Sodini Marco hails from Italy, Dennis Felton also from
(USA) and Aramis Naglic (Croatia).
The
coaches are being assessed against a 10-point criteria drawn up by the Federation and a decision on the position has been delayed to come close
to opening of training camp in Abuja. The Federation had agreed with
players who committed for 2015 Afrobasket to rest and recover from their
grueling seasons before reporting to camp.
