Nigeria’s D’Tigers earned their first win at the 2016 Olympics
men’s basketball event by pulling off the biggest upset to date in the
competition with a 90-76 defeat of Croatia on Saturday.
D’Tigers
improved to 1-3 to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals.
The
victory is Nigeria’s biggest win at the world level since they surprised Greece
80-79 at the 2012 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
D’Tigers
in their previous game lost,94-66 to Argentina,89-80 to Lithuania and 96-87 to
Spain.
Nigeria’s
last game is against host nation Brazil on Monday at 1:15Pm.Croatia will face European rivals
Lithuania .
