Nigeria Women's League Body Raise Alarm Over Growing Match Boycott

The Nigeria Women’ Professional Football League, the NWFL ,is still in shock over the recent huge walk over of matches recorded in both the Women’s elite and Professional Leagues in the second stanza of the  2015/16 season.

The Club owners and managers Association had issued directives to the clubs not to participate any longer in the Leagues until the Nigeria Football Association puts a board in place  to run the league and also tackle issues on referees indemnities.

Executive secretary of the League, Ayo Abdulrahman, however is of the view that clubs should weigh the consequences of their action  saying the development is not good for the League.

"It is rather an unpleasant development at this time ,we don't need all of this ,i am appealing to the clubs and their managers to rethink their actions. It is capable of scaring our prospective sponsors ,we are trying to build this League and we need all hands on the plough to make it work" Ayo submitted.

Interim chairman of the NWFL, Babagana Kalil had earlier condemned the action of the clubs but stated that the League body is already looking into the development with a view to finding a lasting solution to it.

In the meantime, latest news has it that ,the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL has sent packing two teams from the premier and one from the pro cadre for breach of the rules and regulations governing the League.

The clubs are Premier Leagues side Tokas Queens, and  Capital City Doves and Pro -League team ,State House Queens.
