Adeka Wants Early Arrival Of Junior Tigresses At The Women's World Championship In Spain

Nigeria junior Women’s Basketball team will no longer have the chance to embark on a training tour of Portugal before the start of the Women’s U-17 World Championship in Zaragoza, Spain on the 22nd of this month.

The team is still chasing travelling visas and the Nigeria Basketball Federation is grappling with funds to prosecute the championship.
Head coach of the team, Adeka Daudu knows the impact of missing the tours but says early arrival to the tournament venue will help his team a lot.
"The training tour would have been okay for us,because we need to expose our players must of them you know are new to this kind of big stage ,issues of fears,colour,facility ;the environment ,and style of play of the European nations at this level"
"We took an early step in our own way to toughen the girls with enough tune up matches here at home,we will be play a few more friendly Wednesday 
He continues,"It will pay us a lot if we arrive early at the tournament venue,we will have time to train and acclimatize"
Nigeria is in group A that includes Canada, Latvia and Japan.
The Nigerian side is expected to depart to Spain on Friday, the 17th of this June.  
Mali is the other African representative at the tournament.
