LULU: Lagerback Showing Nigerians Why I Appointed Him In 2010

Sani Lulu,erstwhile NFF President.
BY GODWIN DUDU-ORUMEN:
Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Sani Abdullahi Lulu says the fine performances of tiny Republic of Iceland (A population of 332,529,as at January 1,2016 estimate)under former Super Eagles coach has shown Nigerians the reason why his board appointed the coach in 2010.

The Swede has been working magic as coach of Iceland taking them to the brink of qualification for last World Cup and has now lead them to the quarter finals of the ongoing European Championship in France courtesy of a surprise 2-1 win over England.
Lagerback was appointed as coach of the Nigeria national team before the start of the 2010 World cup in South Africa but left immediately after Nigeria’s campaign at the Mundial but according to Lulu he would have retained the coach if he had remained in office.
“Am not surprise he is doing well with Iceland, I remember when we interviewed him for the Super Eagles coach he blew us away with his knowledge of football by using a projector to argue his case” Lulu told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” I wanted him to remain as coach after the World Cup in South Africa but unfortunately I left my role as president of the NFF and now Nigerians are seeing why we appointed him in 2010 ahead of Glen Hoddle”.
