D’tigresses of Nigeria kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the women’s Olympic tournament with a closest 70-69 defeat of Korea Republic,in a most exciting clash Tuesday in Nantes,France.
The coach Scot Nnaji women contested every ball and action,Ezinne Kalu was the hero of the day for Nigeria,scoring 11 points off the bench to save the country from a potential exit from the tournament. Nigeria came from behind,with Ezinne Kalu hitting a three pointer,with only 4.6 seconds left, to beat South Korea.

Nigeria
now lead group C with 3 points and are closely followed by Belarus with two
points,though the Europeans have a game to spare.
The
outcome of the tie between Korea and Belarus Thursday, will determine the final
standing in group C.
Nigeria
will play the second or 1st in group D that has China,Spain and
Venezuela for the next phase.
