With the Nigeria Football
Association desperate to employ a foreign coach for the country’s senior men’s
soccer team, the Super Eagles, veteran coach, James Peters has strongly kicked
against the plan.
Peters a former technical
director of the Football body told amarignis.blogspot.com in an exclusive chat that the
NFF should put together a consortium of coaches behind interim handler,Salisu
Yusuf, and should confirm him as the Eagles substantive head coach.
Listen to him"We have coaches in Nigeria that can deliver the Super Eagles and ensure we pick the World Cup ticket, why are we looking for a foreign coach, all we need do is to confirm the team's interim handler,Salisu Yusuf as the substantive coach and then bring a consortum of experience coaches that we have in this country to supervise him"
You have Chief Onigbinde,Kashimawo Laloko,Christian Chukwu and myself, when i was in charge at the technical department we did this and it helped us qualify for the 2010 world Cup'
Many of us went on study or spying missions against our possible opponent and we came back with tapes ,information about our opponents,we must give Salisu a chance,he needs to be empowered,he has being there and knows what is at stake"
Nigeria’s group B opponents at
the 2018 World Cup,Russia qualifiers, have been labelled by experts as tough call ,with
Algeria,Cameroon and Zambia ,all former Champions on the African continent .
