A letter signed by the NNL Secretary, Lawrence Katken and forwarded to the management of Ekiti United and Ekiti State FA  directed that all lost items of the molested match officials will be paid for by Ekiti United FC.
Both were also warned of severe sanctions should Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee upholds the decision of NNL and decides on more stringent punishment.
Match Commissioner’s reports on the match revealed that the Centre Referee and his two assistants were mercilessly beaten up on their way to the dressing room at half time and were again attacked in the dressing room after the game.
They were left with bodily injuries for doing their lawful duties even as the few law enforcement agents around looked the other way.
