Nigerian Cyclists Set for the 2015 Benin Tour |
Amarignis.blogspot.com can report that six Cyclists
and three officials will depart the country Saturday for Benin Republic ahead
of the 12th International Cycling Tour due to start from 13 through to the
21st of this month in the West Africa country.
Secretary General of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria ,Samuel Aminu hinted that the country's
top ranked Cyclist Nelson Okon will lead the likes of Emmanuel Akpan, Bakare
Afisi;Meibaka Aggo ,Odozi Godfrey and Eyo Emmanual to the event.
Aminu stated that his Federation has done its best to put the athletes in competitive mood"The Cyclist are prepared,they have been under a thorough programme regimen supervised by the Technical Director of the Federation ,Mohammed Bashir and they have religiously followed the programmes"
The secretary also hinted that the Benin Tour will serve as a platform to select players for the All Africa Games in Congo."The selected cyclists will form the nucleus of our team for the 11th All Africa Games,this is one of our build up events"
The Cyclists
will feature in the 80,140,160,and 135
kilometers distances.
The team contingent also include Mohammed Bashir,Onasanya Oluwatoyin,Amao Lekan,Yakubu Auwalu,and the Federation scribe ,Aminu Samuel.
