Federation's Cup,Enyimba ,Rivers Angels In title defence

 Defending Champions of the  Federation's Cup Enyimba International Fc of Aba,will begin the defence of their Cup against Remo Stars of Ogun  while  giant-killers, Kukuruku Dragons  of Edo  State will battle Enugu Rangers Internation FC  as the round of 32 matches of this year’s men’s Federation Cup competition kick off on Wednesday.

The wave-making side defeated BJ Foundation in the final of the Edo State competition, and then prevailed 3-2 over God’s Time FC from Delta State in the play-off round. In the Round of 64, the Dragons saw off Nigeria Professional Football League side, Giwa FC 7-6 on penalties after both teams drew 2-2 in regulation time.

On Wednesday, the attention of most lovers of the Federation Cup will be called to the Kwara State Sports Complex, Ilorin where Kukuruku will take on five –time winners Enugu Rangers for a spot in the Round of 16.

At the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Heartland FC and Sharks FC will slug it out in one of only two all-Professional Football League clashes, the other being the fireworks between FC IfeanyiUbah and Bayelsa United at Oleh Township Stadium. A total of 13 matches will be played on Wednesday in the men’s competition, with the other three coming up on Thursday.

In the women’s competition, City Of David (COD) Ladies coached by former Super Falcons goalkeeper and captain Ann Chiejine, will combat Cup holders Rivers Angels in Abuja, while Nasarawa Amazons go to battle against Delta Queens in Ibadan.
