National Sports Commission Approves N25Million For Hockey Teams Ahead Of Olympic Qualifiers

Nigeria Hockey Federation has expressed readiness to ensure the country’s flickers shine at the at next month’s Olympics qualifier in South Africa.

Federations’ Technical Director,Professor Ediga Agbo speaking with amarignis.blogspot.com:said:

"I can say will be ready,as you can see we have started well by inviting 60 players male and female to camp here at the Athletes High Performance Centre,thanks to the National Sports Commission for making this place available for us"

"We intend to prune to 18 for both the men and women's team for the competition next month in South Africa"

The professor of Microbiology at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University,Bauchi revealed that the National Sports Commisiion also graciously released the sum N25Million a gesture will go a long way in preparing the athletes ,while stating they need more support in their quest to do the country proud.

"We are greatful to the Director General for the making the fund available,it is not a matter of wether it will be enough,what is important is it is a huge relief for us while we seek for more support"

Egypt,Ghana,Kenya,Uganda,Tanzania,Zimbabwe,Namibia,Morocco, are the other countries featuring at the Rio 2016 Olympics Qualifiers.
